The Eve of the Debate

So today this thing better indent when I make it do so or I will be very much agitated. For I do not wish for tomorrow's blog to entail a large section entitled: "I HATE BLOGSPOT.COM" Now onto what was important in my life today. Staring off at 1:45p.m.(Yes I know, a very late time to start your day).
So tomorrow I have to go to a debate tournament. First of all whoever decides to put a debate tournament in the middle of a nine day break away from school either does not have kids or hates theirs for this is just evil. However, it is not time wasted. I went to Kenny's house at the aforementioned time and began to go over the evidence. Even though we had this evidence for about two weeks, this was my first time reading it. Most of the evidence was heavily sub par to my needs and Google was of little help. We somehow made it through the writing of speeches and whatnot after a grueling four and a half hours. I am now attempting to forge some evidence to fit my needs better(I only started doing this this year and wish that I has started sooner). Luckily my entire day was not filled with debate, although it sure felt like it.
I got in a disappointing hour of tuba practice. It was disappointing for two reasons: one being that I usually practice for longer periods of time and two being that I sounded terrible(even though I usually sound terrible, I sounded especially poor today). Then I did what I always do when I get home; sit at my computer and go on AIM. A sad life I know, but... wait, no buts, its just really sad. All I am doing right now is writing a blog, talking on AIM, and watching Youtube videos from the Big Bang Theory. Then I get to wake up early so I can get to school by 6:30a.m. for my debate tournament. I have no somewhat interesting stories, just a habitually bland life. I am done in this section.

Random Ranting Section:

Today's ranting topic is provided by Erin Miller.
"Fix what's bugging you."

A brief description of the quote:"Unhappy people tend to shut down in the face of a problem; happy individuals take action to solve their problems. Optimists tend not to get mired in blaming themselves for doing what's wrong as pessimists do; they focus on solutions."

I would like to take this a step further by stating that there are no true optimists or happy people. At times we all fall into unhappy ruts or become pessimistic towards a situation. There in lies the clear issue presented by this quote. Whenever we as normal people are presented with a real problem, we by the tendency of human nature, shut down and either pretend it does not exist or complain about why we "cannot do anything about it." People will make excuses and wait for time to heal the wound or have someone else solve the problem for them as if action need not be taken and everything can just go back to the way it was before. The truth is that when presented with a real problem, the only proper solution is to take action. So few do and that is the sad part. As people who know me can deduce from my first and definitely my second ranting section, these rants will be heavily hypocritical of me. Alas, that is a problem that I myself will continue to let alone(you can see the hypocritical tendencies of my life unfold before your eyes). Anyways, back to the topic at hand. WE as humans tend to actually need a crisis scenario to truly see what our lack of effort has brought into fruition. When did we do something about slavery? After we took a look at the farms and saw animals being treated with more dignity than humans. When did we end woman's suffrage? When we saw women being treated like slaves. When did we stop Hitler? After a racial genocide that took out millions of Jews and other people that did not fit the niche of the aryien race. I do not believe that anyone who reads these blogs of mine has an issue as serious as racial genocide, but it might take something that shocking to get you to realize what is truly going on in your lives. To own up and realize that this is your issue, that you have only yourself to blame, and that you need to get off of your lazy ass and do something about it. Allowing for the majourity of this generation to go about life with such a lackluster mindset will lead to tragedy upon tragedy. We need to start taking action, and maybe we can begin to set a better example for the future, because that is what we need to be doing right now. Alright.

Final Note:

I have some very pressing issues to deal with. I should probably make a "to do list." If I start now at an average rate of one objective per day, then I will be done by...(calculating)... February 24th, 2089. I better get started. Maybe that can be a new section in my blog? Only time will tell.

Thank you for reading.
