Alright, so as promised, here is what is irritating me. When I do my draft of my blog posting the indentation is clear and obviously there. However, whenever I post my blog the indentation is no longer there. Either I am technologically illiterate(most logical), blogspot.com sucks(it does, but not the correct response), or a little bit of the two(I seem to slowly be realizing that it is my fault). I hope to get this right before the end of the month. Time for the good stuff.
So today Kenny Shiu and I were debate partners in novice public forum debate(do not laugh because it is novice). We had spent a considerable amount of time on our case the day before and it turns out we went undefeated; 3-0 baby! Well that was quite the fun day, obviously only because we won. Had the outcome been different I would be singing a different tune. I got all of my opponents to agree that outsourcing to China helps out our economy which was very enjoyable. Even though after looking at the ballots and being in the debates, I realized we only won because the judges were so enamoured with Kenny(I am not saying that is a bad thing, we would have taken the win regardless of reason). That pretty much explained my day; the tournament was technically from 6:30a.m.-7:00p.m.
NEW SECTION TIME!!!
Problem of the Day-This is a new section that has to deal with the ranting topic from yesterday. I have decided to attempt to fix an issue of mine everyday and eventually hope to improve as a person.
Day #1- Debate apathy.
Even though this is my second year in Forensics, today was the first time I went to a debate that I had actually prepared for. In the past I just went into things without a care. I had never won a trophy either; obviously the spoiled fruits of my non-existant labour. However, today I had studied up on the topic and prepared speeches and everything. Obviously this was a good thing because Kenny and I received trophies for an undefeated record and are now JV level public forum debaters. I can already see that this section is improving my life. I encourage all others to attempt to do the same.
Random Ranting Section:
Today's ranting topic is provided by Austin Long.
"Age is just a measure of life on Earth, love is a measure of life in the soul."
No description for the man made this up on the fly; I know, he is pretty darn clever.
Remember that these are meant to be ambiguous, thus more than likely you and myself will have conflicting views of the topics. So on that note I will begin my interpretation of this quote. A lot of the people in this world of ours, especially the high school students I know, are too busy worrying about their work and do not take the time to smell the roses. You need to learn to enjoy the ride, not just worrying about how you are going to get there. We all need to take a break once in a while(hooray for nine day vacations). If you stop stressing out so much, get some rest, and just enjoy life, then things like school can seem like less of a chore. Today I am clearly not up for good ranting, I lost all of my bullshitting ability at the debate tournament, but the point remains to be crucial to the lives of people everywhere. I would just like to advise all of the three people out there that read this to not worry about all the trials and tribulations life presents you with and just go with the flow. Although highly absurd sounding, the principal that having a good balance of work and relaxation improves the hegemony of yourself is constant. Alright.
Final Note:
Today I brought a good luck charm with me to the debate tournament which, although very superstitious of me, clearly aided in the victories attained today. I would like for the people that read this to try and guess what I brought with me as a good luck charm. For those who were there and know what it is, please be vague in your answers.
Thank you for reading.
